Phaseolus lunatus, commonly known as the lima bean, butter bean, sieva bean, double bean or Madagascar bean, is a legume grown for its edible seeds or beans. They are delicious in a variety of dishes and an excellent substitute for meat. These beans are high in protein, iron, fiber and other nutrients and low in fat, cholesterol and sodium.
